Veg keto curries and keto naan!

When on a keto diet, we often miss the flat breads or the regular meals that satisfies our palette and tummy. Here are the most favourite veg keto curries and also the buttery keto naan!

1. Keto paneer butter masala

One of the favourite dishes made from cottage cheese, heavy cream and spices is absolutely keto-friendly!

INGREDIENTS

Serves 2

List A
1 medium size onion
1/2 medium size tomato
1-2 green chillies
1/4 cup grated coconut

List B

1/2 cup cottage cheese cut into 1 inch cubes
4-5 tbsp butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp red chilli powder & 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp clove powder & 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
2-3 garlic cloves

Salt to taste

METHOD

  1. Blend all the list A ingredients into a fine puree.
  2. In a pan, add clarified butter, saute garlic cloves for few minutes and discard to avoid carb intake. Now pour the puree and let it cook till oil collects around it.
  3. Add all the other ingredients of list B. Let it cook for 5-7 minutes more.
  4. Add the cottage cheese cubes and garnish with some cream. Now the dish is ready to be served with a buttery flat bread.

2. Keto methi malai curry

This dish made of fenugreek and heavy cream is a must add to your keto diet.

INGREDIENTS

Serves 2

List A
1 medium size onion
1/2 cup coconut meat
1/3 cup almonds (soaked and peeled)
1-2 green chillies
1/2 an inch of ginger (optional)

List B

1/4 cup coconut milk
1 cup fenugreek leaves blanched and finely chopped.
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp clove powder
2-3 garlic cloves
2 tbsp clarified butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
Salt to taste

METHOD

  1. Blend all the ingredients of list A into a fine puree.
  2. In a pan, add clarified butter, saute garlic cloves for few minutes and discard to avoid carb intake. Now, pour the puree and let it cook till oil collects around it.
  3. Add all the other ingredients of list B except fenugreek. Let it cook for 5-7 minutes more. You can add some more coconut milk or water to get the desired consistency. Add fenugreek and mix. Your dish is ready.
  4. Garnish with some cream and serve with a buttery flat bread.

Note : You can add 1/4 tsp of Stevia in case almonds does not counter fenugreek bitterness.

3. Keto butter naan 

This flat bread usually made with all purpose flour gets its own keto twist.

Fats : 5 gms
Proteins : 2.5 gms
Carbs : 5.5 gms net

INGREDIENTS

Makes 4 pieces

1/2 cup coconut flour
2 tbsp psyllium husk
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup water
Clarified butter/ butter for cooking

METHOD

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients and add lukewarm water to make a moderately soft dough.
  2. Let it rest for 15 minutes to let the pysllium husk soak in.
  3. Take a portion and place it in between two parchement papers. Now spread it carefully with hands or roll it gently with a rolling pin.
  4. In a heated pan, add some butter and let the bread cook on one side finely then flip. Now, add some more butter for few minutes till finely cooked. Dazzle some butter before serving. Best served with either of the curries.
